A Collection of Journeys

Inspiring Words October 7, 2012

“The purpose of life, after all, is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences.”

-Elanor Roosevelt

“She wasn’t where she had been. She wasn’t where she was going…but she was on her way. And on her way she enjoyed food that wasn’t fast, friendships that held, hearts breaking, smiles that caught tears, paths trudged and alleys skipped. And on her way she no longer looked for answers, but held close the two things she knew for sure. One, if a day carried strength in the morning, peace in the evening, and a little joy in between, it was a good one…and two, you can live completely without complete understanding.”

-Jodi Hills

“I see my path, but I don’t know where it leads. Not Knowing where I’m going is what inspires me to travel it.”

-Rosalia de Castro

Prospective Immigrants Please Note

Either you will
go through this door
or you will not go through.
If you go through
there is always the risk
of remembering your name.

Things look at you doubly
and you must look back
and let them happen.

If you do not go through
it is possible
to live worthily

to maintain your attitudes
to hold your position
to die bravely

but much will blind you,
much will evade you,
at what cost who knows?

The door itself
makes no promises.
It is only a door.

-Adrienne Rich

“Not all who wander are lost.”

-J.R.R. Tolkien
